Who We Are

Stratasan is a Nashville-based company that provides intelligence on healthcare markets to hospital strategists, physician offices, community care experts, and others. We aggregate healthcare data, curate it, and provide reports and tools that aid healthcare decision-making. As an example, we give guidance to our clients looking to place a new acute care clinic.

Why You Should Talk To Us

  • We are an early stage company, so your skills and guidance have an immediate impact on the company's direction.
  • We have interesting challenges aggregating, curating, and securing billions of records of healthcare data.
  • We do our best to follow the tenents of 12 Factor Apps.
  • We have built our products on the open source stack, and we contribute back when we are able. Our team is heavily involved in the local Python community user group, PyNash. We have been regular sponsors and attendees of PyCon North America and PyTennessee.

Our Stack

Who We Need

  • An experienced web developer with prior experience in at least one common web framework (e.g., Rails, Django, CakePHP). Previous experience with Python is obviously preferred, but if you have dabbled in multiple languages and you are willing to learn a new one, we should talk.
  • Emphasis here is on the web. While we do a lot of data analysis, this position is for someone who is contributing to our web platform.
  • Willingness to write automated tests to prove that your code works. We're not evangelical about TDD, but we are very interested in making our lives a little easier with testing. If you've used Rspec, cucumber, py unittest, or PHPUnit, or even Selenium for full-stack testing, then you should be a good fit.
  • Some knowledge of SQL (we use PostgreSQL with PostGIS) and document storage systems.
  • Familiarity with git version control.
  • Strong English skills are a must. We don't care where you live, but we must be able to communicate ideas effectively.
  • Preference is given to developers residing in similar time zones - we're on US/central time.

We prefer to work on an hourly contractor rate at first, so we can gauge both talent and culture fit.

If this sounds like a good fit, email us at jobs@stratasan.com. Send us a plain-text resume and a way we can contact you. Feel free to include your GitHub or StackOverflow account.
