EC wants to pull in more techies, less suits.
Some context: Michael Burcham is the guy ultimately running the Nashville
Entrepreneur Center. The NEC is a space that is funded by several
different sources (public money included) that provides mentoring,
legal guidance, office space, and other amenties at a pretty low price.
There is a vetting process for companies to be included on the EC
roster.
The EC is located on lower Broadway.

I spoke with Michael Burcham at the Nashville Entrepreneur Center the
other day, and the gist of it was that MB is making an attempt to get
more involved in the tech-side of the Nashville community. The EC has a
strong presence in the business development world (read: MBAs in suits
from Vanderbilt, Owen School of Mgmt, etc), but has next to no presence
in the hacker world. He's not looking for tech co-founders (read: free
programmers) but rather for hackers who have ideas or products that
they're not sure how to market. As I understand it, the EC's goal is to
provide guidance and mentoring in these areas.
MB threw out a couple of ideas:
1) Even if a hacker doesn't have an idea that he or she wants to bring
into fruition, MB mentioned that the EC could even host a group and
explain some of the business opportunities that they feel are low-
hanging fruit for people with creativity and technical expertise.
2) The EC space could be used for after-hours hacking sessions for
those who are currently working on an idea.
MB is asking for any additional feedback from the Nashville dev
community. Are there any additional ways that the EC can connect hackers
with the resources and expertise to bring an idea or project to market?
