- 1 lb bacon
- 0.75 cup dark brown sugar (packed)
- 0.5c vanilla granulated sugar (see below)
- 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- I sometimes use 375°F- play with the temps to find a range that works well for you!
- Mix sugar and cayenne pepper. Add the bacon and toss until coated
- (optional) - If you have a coffee grinder (or high powered blender), grinding the graulated sugar, brown sugar, and cayenne powder into a fine powder can give a different texture to the result
- Line a baking sheet with tin foil (to aid cleanup and prevent scratches) and place a rack on the sheet
- Shake off excess sugar and place bacon on the rack
- Place in oven and cook for 20-25 minutes.
