Odysseyra1n on Windows Tutorial (Burrito Edition)

Prerequisites

What you'll need:

• A USB drive
• A computer
• An official Apple cable
• A checkra1n compatible iOS device (5s to X)

Required Downloads:

• Etcher (Select the dropdown arrow next to the download button, and click the "Portable" one.)
• checkn1x

Important Info

1. When you reboot, you won't be jailbroken anymore. If you rejailbreak everything will be back to normal, with your tweaks there again.
2. When you rejailbreak, you do not have to run odysseyra1n again. Just run Steps 7-11 ONLY.
3. Sometimes checkra1n spits out a usbmux error even if it works. This is normal.
4. If you encounter any problems during this process, or you have any questions, head to #jailbreak
5. If you're already a checkra1n user, make sure to restore rootFS first.
6. If you are coming from Odyssey, do not follow this guide! Instead, please follow https://discordapp.com/channels/468422899716456498/702631567419375637/753413956072112180 at the Sileo / Odyssey / Chimera Discord.
7. Some Windows PCs might be encrypted with BitLocker. Part of the process involves disabling "Secure Boot", which may make your computer ask for the BitLocker decryption key. To check if this is the case, open the Start menu, type cmd, right click on Command Prompt, and hit Run As Administrator. Then, paste this into the prompt and hit enter: manage-bde -status. If conversion status is Fully Decrypted, you are good to go. If not, follow this link and follow the first method to disable BitLocker via the Control Panel.

Instructions

1. Insert your USB drive into your computer
2. Open Etcher and press Select Image. Select your checkn1x ISO.
3. Check that the correct USB drive is selected, and then hit Flash.
4. Let it finish flashing and validating checkn1x to the USB drive.
5. Restart your PC and press the key to open the setup menu. (Usually one of the function keys, most likely f12. Google your PC model and the words setup menu if you are unsure.)
6. Disable Secure Boot, and save and exit setup. (Warning: Make sure you read Important Info #7 before disabling Secure Boot)
7. Boot into the USB drive. (Usually F10, F5, F6. Google your PC model and the words boot menu if you are unsure.)
8. Plug in your phone and press Alt+F2 for checkra1n.
9. (iOS 13.5.1 and above only) Open options and allow untested versions.
10. Click start and follow the instructions to enter DFU mode.
11. Once it's done, your phone should boot and the checkra1n app will be on your home screen. Don't open it, just make sure it's there.
12. Press Done and then Quit to go back to the main menu.
13. Press Alt+F4 for Odysseyra1n.
14. Press enter a few times to proceed and if it prompts you for a password, the password is alpine.
15. Once it's done, you can exit and hit shut down in the Odysseyn1x menu.
16. Open Sileo on your phone, go to the Packages tab and update all. Then press the little button with 3 lines and press developer. Go to the search tab and install libhooker.
17. Reboot your phone and rejailbreak with checkra1n, by following steps 7-11.

After Steps

• I recommend installing rocketbootstrap and preferenceloader in Sileo, so tweaks will install properly.
• I also like getting the tweak HideYourApps on the Dynastic Repo, to hide the checkra1n loader, but this is purely optional. You are free to tap the checkra1n loader after you finished this installation.
