Requirements

  • Apple pencil 2 (just because)
  • USB-C charging (same charger as laptop then)
  • iOS 15 support, and unlikely to be unsupported in iOS 16
  • Wifi/sim card model, so it has GPS included

Models meeting criteria

iPad models with USB-C or Thunderbolt / USB 4 connector

  • iPad mini 6th Gen
  • iPad Air 4th Gen
  • iPad Pro 11-inch 1st, 2nd, 3rd Gen
  • iPad Pro 12.9-inch 3rd, 4th Gen

Pencil 2 support

  • iPad mini 6th Gen
  • iPad Air 4th Gen
  • iPad Pro 11-inch 1st, 2nd, 3rd Gen
  • iPad Pro 12.9-inch 3rd, 4th, 5th Gen

tldr; iPads without the home button (iPhone style) will support the 2nd gen pencil, and USB-C/Thunderbolt charging.
