| Spot Specific is currently seeking a candidate with a strong background in Java software development and design to join our development team, to cross-train to become an awesome Android developer. | |
| The successful candidate will contribute to improving and maintaining our advanced application runtime engine for the Android platform. The candidate will work with our CTO, development team and Community Manager to help shape the future development of the product, implement exciting new features, ensure device compatibility, and be responsible for maintenance. | |
| The ideal candidate will have MSc, BSc or BEng level (or equivalent) training in software engineering, web systems development or a related field, with very strong Java skills and a good knowledge of JavaScript (including both frameworks and raw JavaScript - and a willingness to use both). | |
| Direct Android development experience is helpful, but not required. What is required is a willingness to adapt existing, proven, Java skills to the challenge of improving an already very sophisticated Android product, while learning about the next generation of mobile apps. | |
| Applications from recent graduates are explicitly welcomed. | |
