Dear Stephen Kerr,
Can you please just look at the devastation and anxiety you are causing thousands of innocent people around the UK. How can you sleep at night knowing that you have caused this? And for what?

I know first-hand how much it costs to move overseas, not only financially but emotionally and physically. I am beyond rage at this point on behalf of the friends and colleagues who have come to this country to improve our health service, build our houses, cook our food, develop our IT systems and so on. Each day I read stories about the impossible situation we have put these people in. They would like to stay here but they simply do not know whether they will be allowed.
And it is no better for the people born in the UK who have used the opportunity of free movement to seek opportunities in Europe. Or retire in Spain. My daughter's favorite subjects at school are German and Spanish. When she started high-school, young people in the UK had the opportunity to work all over Europe. But according to Steve Barclay, that is an opportunity that only "wealth creators" should have. Are people who actually work for a living just supposed to be happy to stay in the country they were born in while the currency they earn is worth less every day? Birds can migrate South for the winter but the ambitious young cook who wants to work in a restaurant in Paris for a few years should rethink her plans?

I'll be going down to Glasgow tomorrow to protest the unprecedented actions that your government has taken to shut down democracy in this country. The last time I felt this angry about government was when we were led into war in Iraq based on what we all knew were lies at the time and sure enough it later emerged that they were indeed lies. The Labour party has never really recovered since then. We are being lied to in much the same way again. I sincerely hope that your party suffers a similar fate once people realize that this whole thing is for the benefit of a few well-connected disaster capitalists who have big bets on the failure of this project and don't care how much the rest of us suffer.
Yours sincerely,
Andrew Chambers
