description of the eth1 DMA initialization fail problem

        /* DMA SW reset */
        value |= DMA_BUS_MODE_SFT_RESET;
        writel(value, ioaddr + DMA_BUS_MODE);
        limit = 10;
        while (limit--) {
                if (!(readl(ioaddr + DMA_BUS_MODE) & DMA_BUS_MODE_SFT_RESET))

        }
        if (limit < 0)
                return -EBUSY;

The problem is that readl(ioaddr + DMA_BUS_MODE) & DMA_BUS_MODE_SFT_RESET) is always busy. We try to increase limit to 1000 but problem still remains.

HI there,

I am facing the same problem, can you pls share your findings ?

have the same problem for EA8500

Me too. It works only when I have network cable unplugged.

this is my workaround:
