This guide shows how to hex-edit Origin to disable operating system check, which allows NFS Heat to download and install on Windows 7.

Check your Origin.exe version:

• For 10.5.66.38849, see revision 8
• For 10.5.64.37936, see revision 7
• For 10.5.63.37653, see revision 6
• For 10.5.60.37244, see revision 5
• For 10.5.57.35162, see revision 4
• For 10.5.56.33908, see revision 3
• For 10.5.55.33574, see revision 2
• For 10.5.52.32372, see revision 1

If the most recent version is missing, please check the comments; if nobody has commented about it yet, please let me know.

Alternatively, you can try the advanced patching guide that should work on any version, but the advanced guide is a lot more involved and there be dragons.

I recommend switching Origin to offline mode, because if the game needs an update, you will have to do this again.

Can you update for 10.5.60.37244?

I am running Windows 8.1 with classic shell on a 3D Vision laptop and don't want to go to 10 after hearing how often upgrades break 3D Vision.

Just one thing. There is a typo in the first offset for OriginClientService.exe it should be 2F2F0 instead of 2F2F1

If you don't want to do this every time, the only option right now is to do it once and disable Origin updates. There might be a better solution, but I don't have time to find it.

I'm new to the party on this and have only just turned off Origin updates since your last fix. Unfortunately offline mode seems to only be of any use for launching games (in offline mode) - any updates and such requires the mandatory update. Awkward fuckers. lol

I'd say it's an unreasonable expectation to ask chylex to provide fixes every few days if EA are going to update at such a high frequency. Unless the game you're wanting updated is actually broken without an immediate action, just leave it be.

If Origin keeps updating this fast I'll wait a day just in case. I'm planning to write a slightly longer guide that should help with finding the offsets for any version, mind it's a bit more involved and changing the wrong thing could be dangerous (especially as Origin has full system privileges), but it's better than nothing if I'm not able to update the offsets in time.

I looked into Origin internals a bit more, unfortunately I still couldn't figure out how to bypass the OS check another way. I will try to condense the required offset changes to make it easier to update, though.

One more update, I started writing an advanced guide that should work in the future, I'll have to finish it later this week because Origin's giving me a bit of trouble.

Added offsets for 10.5.64.37936 (now only 10 places instead of 14), and a rough advanced patching guide so that people can find the offsets themselves (maybe someone else will post them before me when Origin updates, but I'd advise people to get suspicious if someone posts offsets that don't look like the ones in the guide).

That's the advanced patching guide. If you don't want to hexedit/repatch after every update, disable updates. The advanced guide is what you can do yourself if I haven't updated the hex offsets, not something that will work on its own forever.

Taking a break from this project, you can use the advanced guide to patch any version until I come back to it.

Advanced guide works great (10.5.80.) In my case needed fake DXSETUP.exe from dxwebsetup.exe also. If You have DX_11 problems try to overwrite .exe file to skip it!

Hello guys you can upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 10 for free, the game will work, and there is no need to delete or install Nfs heat again, just choose upgrade Win 10 option from Microsoft site. Cheers.
