Hardware
-
Dynadock connected to an old VGA monitor
-
Mavericks iMac
-
Chromecast connected TV
-
Bluetooth or Wireless Mouses
- 1 mouse needed to select screen for anydesk (unless you configure remote as mouse, haven't done that yet) - if you have a mouse with dongle then you'll need USB C otg with power connection hardware
-
Bluetooth or Wireless Keyboard
Software
- Patched version of Barrier to work on Mavericks 10.9 iMac
- Barrier.pem from Windows 10 computer
- NoMachine on iMac and Windows 10 Laptop (Turn on view only mode)
- Anydesk on Windows 10 Laptop and Sideloaded on Google TV via Aptoide
- Idd Driver - to create virtual screen for Chromecast to connect to
Optional Software
- Turbo VNC for iMac
- TightVNC for Windows 10 Laptop
Interesting setup of Chromecast TV on left running AnyDesk, external screen connected to iMac via Dynadock, Right screen is IMac running NoMachine
I have iMac running Barrier as the Server and Windows 10 Laptop as the Client
I have the virtual screen located to the right of the actual laptop screen
BUT
have the laptop located left of the iMac Server
Notes - cannot login to NoMachine twice so need another screen sharing so can use AnyDesk or VNC client
- AnyDesk is not available for Mavericks
Alternatives
- Boot Debian/Ubuntu/Linux Distro from USB/CD and can use a vnc client and barrier also instead of Mavericks
Also looks like you cannot share desktop from Cast from Chromium but can share a tab from iMac...
Perhaps need to rearrange display link to be up and down...re mac monitors
