Website, admin and researcher UX.
Alright this is a long note, so please take your time and read through it and let me know what you think.
New Website:
Goals for the new website:
- Describe who we are?
- What we do?
- How are we different?
- What we have to offer?
- Get user to create an account
Who we are and what we do?
This is captured well in the first screen you see here: http://charlesdesouza.com/metricwirestory/
How are we different?
The bullets after the first screen also explains this well
What we have to offer? (aka our platform/tech/etc)
Now to achieve this, you guys came up with some points that talk about the different parts of the system, etc.
We also wanted to have an interactive demo on the site that guides a user through creating a study and signing up.
Upon contemplating long and hard, I feel this will be ineffective it diminishes the experience you get from the platform
and given how fast the platform evolves, it will be hard to maintain.
But do not frown yet! There is a better way to do this!
Within the tech section, as the description for a component is displayed on one side, the other side instead of showing
an image, would show a video of that component in action. The company that best accomplishes this is: http://www.invisionapp.com/
Scroll down and take a gander will ya?
Near each of these paragraphs, we will have a huge call to action button that says: "Try out the platform", which leads to the signup page.
This approach, brings in more qualified leads, is technically easier to build and maintain and avoids lurkers(people who just sign up and do nothing).
The main call to action on the site will be to sign up rather than to get in touch!
Admin portal(for you sales people you...):
Funnel:
# of people visited metricwire.com(from google analytics)
# of people visited sign up page(from google analytics)
# of people who signed up (from platform)
# of people who created a study (from platform)
# of people who add participants to study (from platform)
# of people who collect responses, i.e. active study and participants are engaged (from platform)
# of people visited support(from google analytics) Not really relevant to sales funnel, but for dev it lets us know how straight forward platform is
I am thinking apart from giving you daily numbers, have a stacked line chart(https://www.devexpress.com/products/vcl/exQuantumGrid/i/whatsnew6/chart-area.png) so you can see these numbers rise or fall and bask in your glory or cry in the corner accordingly.
But that is not all. We arent worried of overall numbers, but for each customer. If we get $100 for every customer and there are 10 customers, that is $1000 bucks we never had! So it is very important that every customer is treated special and with love(will elaborate on next section...no not that way you dirty minded fools!)
Per User analytics:
# of participants (total)
# of studies
# of participants in study
# of questions in study
# of responses in study
Age (i.e. how long a user has been in the platform). The longer the user has been with us and pays us...the better!
Now to treat customers better:
Every customer needs to feel:
Trust
Confidence
Happiness
when they use our platform
But how???
Trust: Always reponsive of their pleas, i.e. speedy support
Confidence: Trust + our shit works....yeah yeah..dont look at me like that
Happiness: Trust + confidence + Great results(from their study)
A user must NEVER feel lost or abandoned. Here is how we do it through the interface:
- User signs up: They get an email from "Brian"(dw it will be automated), saying welcome to the platform, give us feedback, have any questions, let me know.
- First screen user gets after signing up is a Modal that helps them get started. It would have:
a short...2mins max. video on how to create a study
link to support(get started with MW article)
In grained interface guide(i.e. the interface guides them throught the process...like a pedophile luring a kid to their sketchy van with candy)
- User deploys their study, let them celebrate! Share the study on facebook or twitter or linkedin or G+(who uses that shiet?) The more people enroll, the more responses they get, the more mullah we make $_$
- Send the user an email when a trigger expires so they know that they can check the study to see their responses or add new triggers
- If a user has given up on life and decides to delete their account, show a pop up that asks for feedback, asks them for reason and asks them if they want to talk about it. Yes this is like avoiding a breakup...
