Reduced case of inconsistent list behavior

If you start an ordered list immediately following text:

1. Like this
2. The editor will provide list item 2
3. And also every subsequent item
4. But it won't render as a list when processed

If you insert an extra line break:

1. And start a list
2. Then everything works as expected

But this doesn't occur:

• With unordered lists
• They work fine either way

No sleep:

• Til Brooklyn
• Til
• Brooklyn
