Add this to run level 3 (multiuser):

sudo /sbin/chkconfig --level 3 supervisord on

At the top of /etc/init.d/supervisord I needed to add this info so that it supported chkconfig. I'm not sure about the details of the chkconfig priorties numbers, but I've read that these are "safe":

#
# supervisord Startup script for supervisor
#
# chkconfig: - 99 10
# description: supervisor

Here is an example of one of my queue listeners in /etc/supervisord/conf.d/example_allocate_prod

[program:example_allocate_prod]
command=/opt/plesk/php/5.6/bin/php httpdocs/artisan queue:listen --env=production --queue=batch_allocate --tries=5 --delay=30 --timeout=120
numprocs=1 ; number of processes copies to start (def 1)
directory=/var/www/vhosts/example.com ; directory to cwd to before exec (def no cwd)
autostart=true ; start at supervisord start (default: true)
user=example_user ; setuid to this UNIX account to run the program
redirect_stderr=true ; redirect proc stderr to stdout (default false)

The laravel application "example" is installed in Plesk "example_user" webspace. Each worker will try up to five times with a delay of 30 seconds between each try in the even of failure.

I have removed any setting that I've not changed from its default, for clarity here, but left them in the source file in case some tuning is needed later.
