Her two fathers were a renowned double team, known at once for their engineering proewess and ferocious defence of the weak where peaceful solutions were not possible. Sieghild followed in their footsteps, training as both an omninet technician and Petrel. As her training progressed, Sieghild ventured into the field, connecting communities one day and fending off pirates and raiders the next, until a near-fatal encounter with enforcers of the Ten Families resulted in severe damage to her spine. She lost the use of both arms and her left leg for a long while before her makteba pulled some strings with IPS-N to obtain a lightweight mobility exoskeleton that now allows her to move nearly as precisely as she could before.</p><p>Sieghild's experience in the Long Rim has tempered her once-reckless zeal for the Albatross cause, but she nevertheless retains her desire to build communal, open-source infrastructures and empower ordinary people At Alpha Centauri, she hopes to cultivate another point of light in humanity's glittering tapestry unfurling across the stars, and to propagate the Albatross' ideals of individual heroism and mutual
