Use case: Database entries are represented in a table. By grabbing and moving a row up or down the table, you can change the entries' order/position. The changes are submitted automatically via ajax.

Protect your routes with user roles. Simply add a 'role_id' to the User model, install the roles table and seed if you need some example roles to get going.
If the user has a 'Root' role, then they can perform any actions.
Simply copy the files across into the appropriate directories, and register the middleware in App\Http\Kernel.php

I've sniffed most of the Tinder API to see how it works. You can use this to create bots (etc) very trivially. Some example python bot code is here -> https://gist.github.com/rtt/5a2e0cfa638c938cca59 (horribly quick and dirty, you've been warned!)
