DCN Code of Conduct

Developers Circle Nepal hereby referred as DCN for short is a friendly place to learn, share, and grow.
We’re committed to keeping it that way.

By being a member of DCN, you agree that you'll follow this code of conduct.

In short: Be nice. No harassment or spamming.

  • Harassment includes sexual language and imagery, deliberate intimidation, stalking, name-calling, unwelcome attention, libel, and any malicious hacking or social engineering. DCN should be a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, national origin, or religion (or lack thereof).
  • Spamming includes posting off-topic messages to disrupt discussions, promoting a product, soliciting donations, advertising a job / internship / gig, or flooding discussions with files or text.

Policy On Trolling

We allow trolling, but reasonably.

  • Sexist, heteronormative, racist, and other offensive remarks are not allowed.
  • Cursing is allowed, but never targeting another user, and never in a hateful or sexually explicit manner.
  • Remarks that make any of the moderators go “Hm, that’s inappropriate”, whether on the above list or not: also not allowed.
  • You get a warning on your first offence. If the warning is not taken seriously, you might get a second sterner warning in PM by a moderator.
  • If the warning is unheeded, you get kicked.

However, persistent trolling ruins communities. No good can come of tolerating it. We are not afraid of losing a few kids who can’t manage to behave in a grown-up manner. We’re more concerned with losing the people that those kids chase away.

If you see someone harass, troll, or spam anywhere in the DCN channels community notify the moderators @mod in the  admin chat room - preferably with a screen shot of the offense.
The moderator team will take any action we deem appropriate, up to and including banning the offender.
