Installing Unifi Controller + Pi-hole

Update Packages

sudo rpi-update
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade -y && sudo apt-get autoremove && sudo apt-get autoclean
sudo apt-get install vim -y

Configure Pi

Base Config

sudo raspi-config
  1. Update the tool
  2. Change password
  3. Update hostname
  4. Update Timezone
  5. Expand file system
  6. Change memory split
  7. Reboot

Network Config

sudo vi /etc/dhcpcd.conf
interface eth0
static ip_address=
static routers=
sudo ifconfig eth0 down && sudo ifconfig eth0 up

Reconnect to the Pi.

Install Java

sudo apt-get install dirmngr -y
sudo apt-key adv --recv-key --keyserver EEA14886
echo "deb xenial main" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/webupd8team-java.list
echo "deb-src xenial main" | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list.d/webupd8team-java.list
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install oracle-java8-installer -y

Install Unifi

echo 'deb stable ubiquiti' | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/100-ubnt-unifi.list
sudo wget -O /etc/apt/trusted.gpg.d/unifi-repo.gpg
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install unifi -y

Install Pi-hole

curl -sSL | bash
pihole -a -p

Updating Everything at a Later Date

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get upgrade -y
pihole -up
