In February, Fruit Roll-Ups was introduced in test market. This product was a chewy fruit snack made from real fruit pressed into a thin, flat sheet and then rolled around a special plastic wrapper. Traditionally referred to as "fruit leather", the snack was unrolled, peeled from the plastic and eaten. Each roll was enclosed in a foil pouch with eight pouches packaged in a carton. Fruit Roll-Ups was introduced in four fruit flavors--Strawberry, Apple, Apricot and Cherry. The brand name "Fruit Corners" was later added to the product name. Fruit Corners Fruit Roll-Ups would reach national distribution in January, 1983.

In April, a new Fruit Corners snack was introduced in test market. Fruit Bars was a 100 natural bar made from real fruit with no preservatives. The snack was introduced in four flavors--Strawberry, Cherry, Grape and Orange-Pineapple. Each Fruit Bar was individually wrapped in a foil pouch with six bars in each package. The product would reach national distribution in January, 1985.

In January, Fruit Corners Grape Fruit Roll-Ups was introduced as their fourth fruit flavor. It was made with real grapes. In February, Fruit Corners Snackin' Fruits was introduced in test market. It contained six pouches of bite size pieces of real fruit. It had no preservatives or artificial flavors. Snackin' Fruits was introduced in four flavors: Apple, Cherry, Orange and Strawberry. It would be discontinued in June, 1985. In November, Fruit Corners Fruit Roll-Ups in Orange flavor was introduced nationally. It was made from real oranges.

In January, Fruit Corners Fruit Bars reached national distribution with four flavors: Strawberry, Cherry, Grape and Orange-Pineapple. In June, Fruit Corners Tropical Fruit Fruit Bars was introduced. The new Tropical Fruit flavor combined the flavors of pineapple, peach, mango, passion fruit, cranberry and citrus fruits. Also in June, Fruit Corners Snackin Fruits was discontinued. In July, Fruit Corners Fruit Roll-Ups added Raspberry flavor to its product line.

In June, Fruit Corners Fruit Roll-Ups added Watermelon to its list of flavors. In July, Fruit Corners Fruit Wrinkles was introduced nationally. Each box contained six pouches of bite size pieces of real fruit. It was flagged as an excellent source of Vitamin C -- 25% of U.S. RDA. Fruit Wrinkles was introduced in four flavors. They were Cherry, Lemon, Orange and Strawberry.

In March, Fruit Corners Fruit Swirl Bars was introduced. This addition to the fruit bar line had fruit swirled with creamy nougat. There were three flavors: Real Blueberries and Cream, Real Raspberries and Cream and Real Strawberries and Cream. There were six bars in each box.
