I am second who also need tif with trim option, this is the only format I work with.

This doesn't seem to work with actions in the latest PS build. You can export manually just fine when recording, but it calls the default Export Layers to Files script which is disabled, so it throws an error.

I am trying to slice label sheets, but the problem is that all of the layers have the same name, so I need something like this script to randomly number the layers. I don't care what the file name is because I never look, I just print.

Still wondering if someone has done a script that can add the 'trim' option ?

Thus, when the dialog prompts me for the directory to save files, I select the root directory within which is located the five subdirectories; 01, 02, 03, 04 and 05 to which the files are directed by the characters to the right of the forward slash. File names are determined by everything that appears to the left of forward slash. Make sense? Does this even seem possible?

How would I go about disabling the 'Preserve photoshop editing capabilities' when saving layers into PDF with this script? It's defaulted to enabled and produces 5x larger files than necessary. I've added a line to the code but doesn't seem to be working.

If you want the default to be enabled. check this line exportInfo.png24Trim

However it should be on by default. Those lines in exportInfo are the defaults, these are also saved. So when you run the script again, it will always show the last used settings.

Have you checked running the script with trim OFF and ON and see if it remembers it?
I noticed in the some other versions and the layercomps version the trim and transparency had issues. I fixed those as well

Thats where prefix comes in. So you use "Dad" as prefix and the layernames should do the rest.

Using slashes in file names, folder names or anything a name can have on a OS is kinda waiting something bad to happen. Those are character reserved for the os, it could lead to isses.

Your request would need a custom build of this script. Whats is wrong by manually putting them into folders. Do you need to do that much files so many times you cant do it by hand?

Its not impossible to do this, but would take some work to create it and get it to work properly

PS do you have a test file with a couple of these layers. Perhaps i can help you with this.

I got something working already i think. Though i noticed this script is kind funky. It always seems to add a prefix string number, not sure whats going on. I noticed your comment is quite a while back so i kinda daubt you still need it. If so let me know. I got it working now that it will create folders based on what is added in the name layer, only numbers for now. If no slash with number is given it will add to main folder.

PS something is wrong in the script with the prefix numbering, it always adds 0000s even when its off. When its on, it adds double that text and sometimes 3 times.

PS what is the use case for the prefix, it seems it only starts counting on nested layers, is that correct?

Hello, thanks so much for creating this script, it really helps me.
I need to use this script into batch editing in photoshop on 200 and more files.
I recorded it into action but it stops on every document twice. first stops and i have to press run and than at the end it stops and says it has compleated the task and i have to say ok in order to move to next file.
How this human interaction could be avoided so i can play the action with this script and not have to stay in front of the computer?

you can take those parts out if you prefer to. This script needs that dialog, you could bypass it, but you would need to manually add the settings you want and hardcode them into the script. You would need to use the filetype of choice and use the variable names to add the settings you want. Then comment out the dialog and make sure your variables get added in the export phase

That prompt at the end if succesfull, you can take out by either deleting line 223 and 224 or commented it out (add 2 forwardslahes, //)

This script needs that dialog, you could bypass it, but you would need to manually add the settings you want and hardcode them into the script. You would need to use the filetype of choice and use the variable names to add the settings you want.
