Moodstocks is looking for a Mobile developer

We are looking for a Lead Mobile Developer to join our core team. Let's be clear: you will be THE mobile guy here at Moodstocks designing, developing and maintaining apps, bindings and plugins on-top of our core scanning SDK.

Mission

We have a lot of stuff to do including:

  • maintaining, documenting and improving the Moodstocks SDK by focusing on the Objective-C and Java / JNI bindings, the Moodstocks Scanner application, the demo app

  • taking our brand-new Qrumble scanning app to the next level,

  • developing plugins for the Moodstocks SDK on top of frameworks such as RubyMotion or PhoneGap

  • developing dedicated new smartphone / tablets apps that integrate the Moodstocks scanner

Expected skills

You should be the kind of guy who:

  • installs and run the beta-s on his phone,

  • monitors every update on the {App,Play} Store for his favorite apps,

  • loves interacting with shiny, responsive apps,

  • pays attention to details.

Except if you're a kind of Superman, we do not expect you to master all the platforms (iOS, Android, HTML5/JS) but you should be comfortable with at least the iOS or Android SDK - and thus Objective-C or Java, and willing to learn other stuff.

On the UI side you should be familiar with UI frameworks (e.g. UIKit) and be able to create/tweak/extend UI components programmatically or via high-level tools (Interface Builder). We work with freelance designers so we do not expect you to be one, but visual taste is a plus.

You should also have a decent knowledge about how to interact with HTTP API-s (async calls, response parsing), write reliable code for production and push apps on the store.

It's a plus if you're familiar with Open Source software - we use it a lot here and contribute too!

Just so you know: the core library is written in C, but you won't have to make your hands dirty into it. Here again with some basic C knowledge you will be familiar with its interface.

If you are up to this challenge, come meet us on Sep. 22 in Paris!

About Moodstocks

We believe mobile device cameras should be smarter than they are for now. We commit ourselves to turning them into smart scanners able to understand their surrounding so that developers can add eyes to their apps.

Our premises are located at the heart of Paris, in a marvelous New York City style loft full of brand new iMacs. We love the neighborhood: it's full of nice restaurants.

We are backed by a bunch of really smart investors, all very successful entrepreneurs. We won all the awards you possibly could in the French tech ecosystem.
