Customization Of Garuda Linux:

1.Garuda Linux is a rolling distribution based on the Arch Linux operating system. Unlike Arch Linux, Garuda Linux comes with a graphical installer (Calamares) for easy installation, and other advanced graphical tools for managing your system. It comes pre-built with a lot of features including a BTRFS (modern file system) and soothing colours.

2.Referance video for customization :

3.We downloaded the KDE-Dragonized Desktop for this version for this customization.

4.We installed the Garuda Linux from the following website

https://garudalinux.org/

5.We also downloaded the disk image of the OS and wrote it using rufus on a bootable pen drive. Link to Rufus,an application which helps to write the disk image on your bootable drive:

https://rufus.ie/en_US/

We then dual booted to Garuda Linux from the GRUB Boot Loader.

6.We Went to the desktop effects and then blurred the desktop background using the blur settings. And then dimmed the screen for administrator mode.

7.We then set the window placement to center so that we could get the search bar in the center of the screen.

8.Then we downloaded the Layan Plasma Theme from the pre existing theme libraries.

9.We did not need to install the sweet-dark window decoration layout as it already comes pre installed with Garuda by default. Also the colour scheme was pre existing as Sweet KDE,so did not have to install that too.

10.We set the wallpaper as smart video wallpaper and installed the background video from this link:

https://mylivewallpapers.com/sci-fi/cyberpunk-2077-city-live-wallpaper/

11.We added the panon widget from the add widgets option pre existing in Garuda, whcih is a sool audio visualizer for music.

12.Next we need to install the latte dock from the Konsole: pamac build latte-dock-git

13.Next we need to visit this site and downlaod the Cyberpunk.large.layout.zip under files.

https://www.pling.com/p/1384658/

Add this layout to the latte dock.

14.We also change the login screen and splash screen layout for aesthetics.

15.Next we show our exclusive feature ,the BTRFS modern file system which saves the snapshots of the system when configured using timestamp which is pre built in Garuda Linux.BTRFS is a modern copy on write (CoW) filesystem for Linux aimed at
implementing advanced features while also focusing on fault tolerance, repair and easy administration.

16.You can access 5 latest snapshots directly from GRUB.While being a rolling release distro our goal is to ensure that your system will not be left in an unbootable state after a problematic update. Thus we use the BTRFS filesystem integrated with Timeshift, which employs an automatic snapshot feature which backs up the system configuration before each update. Our video shows how this works.

17.This was the music used in our video:
