What role does empathy play in your life and how has it helped you?

  • Empathy is what inspires me to listen to the opposite person even if I am not feeling okay and having a not so nice day. Empathy is what pushes me to enhance my code even more better so that the person reading it would for the least have a wow expression even if it was for just a second. I think being empathetic has helped me gain a hold of people and people getting a hold of me, not to mention the network that I have come across knowing simply because of an empathetic conversation we had sometime in the past.

How does empathy help you build better software?

  • I believe a code written with no empathy can result pretty much in a spaghetti type of code, simply for the fact that no of the person most likely to read the code had been taken into consideration

Why is empathy important for working on a team?

  • Empathy between team members can in fact result in a better software built, and that's because with empathy a certain harmony is coming into place between team members, and that could indeed result in flowing an enthusiastic energy among the team. so everybody would be having the ultimate goal of building the perfect software, not just for one's own benefit but for one's fellow team members. for that there's an empathy between all of them.

Describe a situation in which your ability to empathize with a colleague or teammate was helpful.

  • I was working at a place as Data Entry Employee, and there was one colleague that not everybody liked and he was like a fun ruiner almost all the time, but I wasn't taking any biased sides or anything, and I was pretty normal with him not expressing any hate. listening to almost whatever story he might be coming up with. and that in fact resulted in him standing up for me later in the office and actually becoming my friend.

When do you find it most difficult to be empathetic in professional settings? How can you improve your skills when faced with these scenarios?

  • I honestly can not come up with any scenario where an empathetic stand would be difficult, I believe an empathetic leadership style in a professional environment can result in a setting more like a one big team of employees even if it wasn't one department of a company.
