In CSS/BEM: how do we name a sub-block that is related to its parent block?
<!-- Simplest solution is to just label the element as a element within an element -->
<div class="block">
Content
<div class="block__element">
Content
<div class="block__element__element">
Content related to `block__element`
</div>
</div>

2015-01-29 Unofficial Relay FAQ

Compilation of questions and answers about Relay from React.js Conf.

Disclaimer: I work on Relay at Facebook. Relay is a complex system on which we're iterating aggressively. I'll do my best here to provide accurate, useful answers, but the details are subject to change. I may also be wrong. Feedback and additional questions are welcome.

What is Relay?

Relay is a new framework from Facebook that provides data-fetching functionality for React applications. It was announced at React.js Conf (January 2015).

hn job query search
// Usage:
// Copy and paste all of this into a debug console window of the "Who is Hiring?" comment thread
// then use as follows:
//
// query(term | [term, term, ...], term | [term, term, ...], ...)
//
// When arguments are in an array then that means an "or" and when they are seperate that means "and"
//
// Term is of the format:
// ((-)text/RegExp) ( '-' means negation )

An API search engine in Elm for Elm, proposal for a Lightning Talk at ReactiveConf 2016

An API search engine in Elm for Elm

Elm is a statically typed functional language that compiles to JavaScript. It's well-known for its developer experience: the compiler provides nice error messages, the package system enforces semantic versioning for all published packages and makes sure every exposed value or type has some documentation and type annotations.

The Why and When of Choosing Elm

What is Elm?

  • Language (and "framework") for building web frontend applications
  • Can be used in place of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Compiles into the above
const Elm = require("../../elm/HelloWorld.elm")
window.registerApp({ HelloWorld: Elm.HelloWorld })
