My fav veg*n resources

Food blogs

####http://minimalistbaker.com/ This is easily my #1 recipe resource. Everything is vegetarian, a lot of it is vegan (or can be vegan) and it's all amazing. I'm serious. Everything I've made on here is great.

####http://veganinspo.tumblr.com/ "damn B) nice"

####http://ohsheglows.com/ Killer smoothie recipes and, in particular, breakfast recipes that are good and also not eggs. (!)

####http://www.budgetbytes.com/category/recipes/vegetarian/ Not everything on here is vegetarian, but it's sorted by tag. Each recipe is broken down by cost, which is cool.

####http://theveganstoner.blogspot.ca/ Dead simple stuff for when you need dead simple stuff. 1000 thank yous to @jessicard for showing this to me! There's also a book!

My favourite recipes

Ok so first things first, I have perfected the rice & bean Mission burrito (despite being a continent away). I haven't typed up the recipe yet but I can do it if you want it, just ask me.

Pretty much all of these are very easy and also cheap because I'm lazy... and cheap:

  • The Whole Bowl bowl -- if you've been to Portland, you probably know it. And if not, it's good. I could live on it. You can just make a fuckton of the "tali sauce" before hand and leave it in your fridge.
  • The Naam dragon bowl my favourite from Vancouver. It's basically fried tofu and cheese and this fucking miso gravy that I dream about nightly. Same goes for making the miso gravy ahead of time. What I'm saying is on multiple occasions I have scooped up the miso gravy and eaten it with my hands in the middle of the night, hunched in the stark glow of the fridge.
  • Ginger & peanut tofu stirfry
  • Vegan african peanut stew
  • Vegan spicy/creamy kale pasta

Here's some more complicated stuff if you are feelin feisty:

  • Vegetarian meatloaf this looks disgusting and sounds worse but it's really good and would be awesome for having people over. I put some mashed potato/sweet potato on top per this (non-vegetarian) recipe and.

Meal plans

  • If you want to go all-in vegetarian for a month without putting a lot of thought into it, you can try Minimalist Baker's 31 Meals PDF. It involves a lot of cooking if you follow it to the letter, but it's a great place to start.

  • If 31 days is too much to start with, OhSheGlows has a 2-day meal plan. I've made everything on there and it's all amazing. (Especially the overnight oatmeal and the smoothie.)
