Wondering aloud: whether it would be useful to have a semantic to denote network in the connect URI, in order to allow literal hostnames with an explicit distinction between those and network-abstracted connections. One could assume any entry not in the "networks" list is a hostname, but that also opens a less explicit door for user error. Or perhaps you just want to only support the current indirection. Anyway, just a thought.

i like that idea, if the host name is not in the list of networks, assume its a literal hostname.
