Strengths and StoryTelling Reflection
# Strengths & Storytelling Reflection Guidelines
Build on your professional story by thinking about how you're progressing at Turing. Answer the questions below in your own gist to use your StrengthsFinder themes to add to your story:
* Look at your initial StrengthsFinder reflection that you completed in week 1 -- how have your perceptions of the top 5 themes stayed the same? How have they changed?
I think many of my perceptions of my top 5 themes remain unchanged, and I can definitely see how they can play out in writing software, at least in the little bit that I've done so far this Mod. The most striking is how I feel my Ideation component from StrengthsFinder plays out in how I feel relztively comfortable diagramming a project, but have to focus harder when Im in the weeds on it.
* How are you different today than when you first started at Turing? How are you stronger now than on day 1? How have you struggled?
I think simply-put, I'm better at struggling now. It feels like an old friend.
* Considering how you describe these themes, how do you want others to see you as you continue to progress through Turing?
Above all else I'd really like others to see me as someone reliable for whatever they are seeking help on, whether it be a project or just a quick code review. I think that I can ensure that this happens by bolstering my weaknesses and workinf to maintain the already strong areas that I can currently claim.
* Even though your Turing story isn't finished yet, what do you envision for your development in future mods? How will this story end?
I'd like to be a supporter and an initiator. I want to be able to help support people in their current paths, but also be innovative and articulate enough to forge new areas.
* Finally, write a draft of your story here. This is a short paragraph, 4-6 sentences, describing who you are, why you came to Turing, and what you hope to accomplish while you're here:
I come from working in education where one of my main was investigating and implementing new areas of research in my work. My first foray into software was in a graduate Natural Language Processing class where I was introduced to the vast power of the tools rendered by being able to write and use software. From there I continued to try to learn on my own until I decided I needed to be more intentional with my learning. Enter: Turing. Here, as a student I hope to build an unshakable foundation as a Back End Developer, while leaving some room open for me to integrate my past experiences in with my new skill set
