Difference between nil?, empty?, blank? and present? in Ruby and Ruby on Rasils.
# nil? can be used on any Ruby object. It returns true only if the object is nil.
nil.nil? # => true
[].nil? # => false
{}.nil? # => false
"".nil? # => false
" ".nil? # => false
true.nil? # => false
