QLN
There are tons of tutorials, meetups, MOOCs out there to learn everything tech related — only: cis-guys everywhere you go.
It would be nice to meet some other women/lesbians/genderqueers along the way, maybe take a class together...
That's what the Queer Feminist Tech Learning Network is going to be about.
This will be a workshop. We're going to start the network together. Hands-On.
Thus, we will learn about
- creating an online plattform/community
- how to get it started and keep it alive
- forms to learn online
Participants should have some IT/Web/(social but maybe also technical) networking experience and be willing to scratch together know how from the web and set up a platform to meet other women, queer female butch nerds, whatever to learn together and network.
Things we could do include
- set up a discourse server
- have something like mumble for audio chat in real time
- a little Rails app to find learning pairs
- ...
- set up Facebook groups/events, Twitter account, whatever!
- set up a web page holding everything together
