How I cut my monthly RCN internet bill
19:40John B.: Hello Matt! How may I help you?
19:41Matt M.: Hi John. I need to lower my bill. Comcast internet is much cheaper. Thinking of switching
19:43Matt M.: They are offering me $34.99/mo my latest RCN bill is $49.99
19:43John B.: Let me see what I can do, sir. I'd be happy to help you. May I please have your address and phone number?
19:44Matt M.: Sure. XXXXXXXXX, MA XXXXX and my phone number is XXX-XXX-XXXX.
19:45John B.: Thank you sir. One moment please while I research what I can do.
19:45Matt M.: Great thanks.
19:48John B.: I tried to put you in the $34.99 plan, however the system knows your an active customer and denies me.
19:49John B.: But we do have another option!
19:49Matt M.: OK. What are you thinking?
19:49John B.: I can get you into what is called a limited cable internet plan! Your internet would stay the same and we would be able to give you cable @ $39.99/month.
19:50John B.: The reason the price goes down is cause I add a line of business and this gives you more promotions.
19:50Matt M.: Would anything change with my existing service?
19:51John B.: No, the internet would stay the same.
19:52Matt M.: great... and that $39.99/month rate would be for what period of time?
19:53John B.: It would be for 1 year.
19:53Matt M.: and after that 1 year what would the rate be?
19:54John B.: $49.99
19:54Matt M.: this sounds great
19:54Matt M.: thank you for your help lowering my monthly rate. Is there anything that you need from me in order to confirm the change?
19:55John B.: Sure do. I need to get a tech out there to install the cable. I know this is a price issue. So bear with me while I fill out this form.
19:55John B.: I am going to waive tech fees.
19:55John B.: No charge for anything.
19:55Matt M.: Sure. Oh we'll also get basic cable also?
19:57John B.: Matt, hate to do this to you. The system won't let me get it lower than 49.99
19:57Matt M.: hmm.
19:58Matt M.: Is there a way that you can override the change with help from a supervisor?
19:58John B.: Yeah, it knows you're existing customer.
19:58John B.: I'm trying to do this right now.
19:58Matt M.: Thank you :)
20:02John B.: I got it for 39.99!
20:02Matt M.: Great! Thank you!
20:02John B.: When are you free for me to send a tech?
20:03Matt M.: Tomorrow at any time would work and Thursday after 3pm Eastern
20:04John B.: I have tomorrow 2-5PM
20:04Matt M.: great that time would work
20:05John B.: Awesome and I got it to you for 37.94 per month for all the hassle.
20:05John B.: Anything else?
20:05Matt M.: Thank you. Is there anything else that you need from me?
