Some notes about UTS Internetworking Project 31261 (2019)

31261 Internetworking Project Tips/Notes

Useful Links

Tips

  • Essentially, organise a group of peers early on and coordinate the completition of PMP as PMP is a pre-req of 31261.
  • If you have areas of interest, devise some problems that you can try to solve or research. This will be useful for submitting project proposals.
  • Otherwise, find some topics from the project topics link above. If you find something that interests you reach out to the supervisor and arrange a meeting.
  • Are you still in contact with lecturers, researches, tutors? If so, reach out to them and arrange a meeting to see if you can help them with their projects.
  • Browse the FEIT staff directory and contact academics that have Can Supervice: YES included in their profile.
  • Attend the info night hosted by SEDE at the beginning of each semester. This is essential to meet with other academics for potential projects and to meet students looking for groups.
  • People have had success in finding group members over at the IT UTS FB group.

Alternatives

  • The only alternative to 31261 at the time of writing is to undertake Summer Studio. It is an block based 4-week subject worth 6cp that is delivered via agile and design thinking. If you have already done a summer studio previously you can submit an e-request to have your Internetworking Project exempt (results may vary).

  • Perhaps doing other project based subjects might also allow you to be exempt of 31261.
