Camaro Response
It's an 83, engine is a 305 (carburetor, not TBI) with about 4k miles since i
replaced it, if that. Transmission (5-speed) was rebuilt about 2000 miles
ago.
It is a T-top, which are kinda leaky to be honest. New seals are available,
just never had the time to replace them.
The good:
It runs like a beast, I would trust this car mechanically without a problem.
I've done all the work on it myself. It's also very, very loud by design. The
exhaust is made of these: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BIG-50232FLT/
Transmission shifts very smoothly, clutch is an aftermarket hydraulic clutch and works
perfectly.
New interior (seat fabric, carpet, headliner).
Car was repainted in 07, but the place where I had it painted didn't do a very good
job at prepping it, so there are some places where the paint is peeling off.
It makes you want to put on some a cutoff flannel shirt, blast some classic
rock and grow a mullet.
The bad:
It is strictly a summer, fair weather car. This is because there is no heater
of any kind in it. When i bought it, it didn't work and there was no making
it work. It went away. The parts aren't even there.
The odometer and speedometer do not work. The cable that runs to the
transmission for this was sheared off when I bought it and I've never been
able to find a replacement, no matter how hard i tried. I use a gps for a
speedometer.
The windshield wipers also have some kind of electrical issue, sometimes they
work, sometimes they don't, more often they don't. In fact, i don't even have
them on the car, they are in the back seat. See "this is strictly a summer
car".
So basically, it just has to go away. I have to get rid of it, it's a very
reliable car when its bright and sunny and isn't going to rain. I've put my
life into this car.
