>400 shields and PPDs - best you can do is buy some time to high wake away. Shields give you time while PPDs helps with Grom bombs.
-
Agile build - gankers are generally built for catching runners and use fixed wepaons, so you can often out maneuver them while waiting to high wake.
-
Speed build - go faster than 800ms and you can outrun them. Over 800 with decent shields and you can ignore them. See icourier bubble taxi builds. Requires engineering.
-
Imperial Courier - Many veteran players have an ICourier built to dodge gankers. Experienced gankers have learned to ignore them. They can't tell if you're in an engineered one or not. Might help you slip by.
-
Have your destination already targetted.
-
Filter contacts list to systems only.
-
Jump in at 0 throttle. Face player ships or put aft toward star.
-
Check contacts for other players, keeping an eye out for known names.
-
Speed hiding - Your speed impacts what shows up on radar so that only ships at similar speeds show. If you are at high speed and see a ganker, drop speed until they dissapear and that will hide you from them. Go as fast as possible while keeping them off the radar.
-
Dropping to normal space - If you can drop to normal space before they can interdict you, you get time to set up a high wake and can immediately initiate it if they show. If they don't show jump back to supercruise at 0 throttle and if you don't see them use rule 1.
-
Use gravity wells - putting large gravity wells between you will let you gain speed while they have to push through the gravity to catch you. Works best with the star. If they do chase you see rule 2 if they get past the star.
-
Indirect path - gankers expect you to fly straight to the destination and hang out on that path. Go opposite direction (rule 3) then circle back around outside of system at high speed and come at station from deep space.
