MH Electronics FAQ

What is this about?

This is about hacking, in both the meanings explained in the following quote:

"It's called a hack when you do something in an ugly way. But when you do something so clever that you somehow beat the system, that's also called a hack.

The word is used more often in the former than the latter sense, probably because ugly solutions are more common than brilliant ones.

Believe it or not, the two senses of “hack” are also connected. Ugly and imaginative solutions have something in common: they both break the rules."

Paul Graham - Hackers and painters

That's the thing. I'm breaking the fucking rules here.

Who are you?

I'm a dude, who cares?

I have a Masters Degree on Telecommunications Engineering.

Till now my whole career have been in the IT word and related with Research and Development. I have no professional experience with Electronics.

I have born in 1991, today (2016) I am 25.

Why in English?

English is not my mother language, I am not even good at communicating at it.

I make this in English, first, because I want to improve my communication and, second, because I want this to arrive as far as possible. I think the technical detail level I am going to put in here and the way I explain stuff is really hard to find even in English speaking places.

In other projects I made I wrote in my mother language because I thought there were many places offering the same in English but a few in my language and I wanted to fill the gap.

In this case I think the gap is bigger. We need to make this more common.

Which gap?

This place is a crazy lab managed by an Engineer, a crazy Engineer.

I go deeply into the technical details but I talk about the stuff in a very normal and non-scientific way. I break things. I swear and I do not care.

I make strange things normal because they are normal for me.

I felt this gap when I started to make my own projects. I only found two kind of places on the Internet:

  • Very detailed places explaining stuff in a very complex way. Academic articles, application notes or datasheets, for example.

  • Places with copy-paste tutorials and simple explanations. Blogs, for example.

This place tries to explain technical stuff in a normal way. Help people to understand academic things, datasheets and such.

Why swearing?

I like to swear because it fits perfectly with the way I am. I get mad easily and I free the pressure and the anger by swearing.

Sometimes swearing represents stuff the way it is. It might be rude but it makes stuff clearer.

Going back to the first question, it's also a way to break the rules.
