Chelsea

• Chelsea market for food
• Highline for a nice walking park. Beautiful night or day.

Upper West Side

• Lincoln center
• central park and Bethesda fountain
• Land (Thai food)
• Tom's Diner (the outside was used in Seinfeld. Food's so so though.)
• Café 82 diner (my old local favorite)

Upper East Side

• Frick Collection - intimate museum, former home of a railroad Barron. http://www.frick.org/visit
• MOMA - museum of modern art
• Met Museum

Times Square

• tkts - inexpensive last minute theater tickets. Never know what they'll offer.
• Toys R Us - there's an inside Ferris wheel
• Disney store
• M&M store

Midtown East

• UN
• grand central train station - gorgeous example of "old ny"
• Empire State Building - great views and insanely amazing at sunset.

Flatiron

• ABC furnishings (restaurants too)
• Eatily - Italian food shop and restaurants

Lower Manhattan

• Staten Island ferry - free and beautiful way to see the Statue of Liberty if the weather is good.

General Food

• Katz's deli for pastrami or corned beef
• Original/Famous Ray's pizza - old school pizza

Coffee

• Bluestone
• Toby's
• Stumptown
• There are many smaller shops: look up "3rd wave Coffee" on yelp.
