Mod 3 Week 2

Find a position or use a position you've put on your Huntr board and write a cover letter for that position in a Google doc or gist. Reference these cover letter resources as well as the session to complete your cover letter. Post the link to your cover letter here

Review your cover letter with a peer some time this week. What feedback did your partner give you? What next steps will you take to make your cover letter even stronger?

  • I need to revise my cover letter to better show my understanding of the company. Explain what they offer/mission and how I can be a part of that mission in a positive way.
  • Do some more research on the company.
  • Make a list of 'what I bring to the table' so I can articulate that in the letter.

If you were to apply to this position (and you should!), how will you customize your resume for it? What other next steps would you need to take here?

  • I would need to edit my about me to be more educationally focused
  • highlight how my past projects can lead to user growth in some way

I think your reflections on this are spot on. I liked the direction you took though. It was a little different than what I have seen. Also, keep in mind that you don't want to come off as too negative in these letters. "I realized that the education system did not allow those concepts to flourish as much as I think they should." How can you get this point across with a more positive spin?
