I played around with this and got it to a point where I'm not getting errors anymore. I'm not sure if it actually works though...

First, put jasmine-jquery.js in the root folder (next to amdSpecRunner.js).

You won't be able to load jasmine-jquery.js with a normal <script> tag. You have to load it with RequireJS so that you can specify it's dependency on jasmine. That way the code in jasmine-jquery.js won't be executed until jasmine has been loaded.

amdSpecRunner.js

  • line 19: specify it's dependency on jasmine
  • line 31: load jasmine-jquery

jasmine-jquery.js This needs a couple changes to work. They assume that jasmine has been loaded, that boot.html was run, and window.jasmine exists. In Jasmine 1.0 this was a valid assumption, but in Jasmine 2.0 they added window.jasmineRequire() to load jasmine. They were trying to mimic AMD but did some really weird stuff with it. In short, all plugins should really reference jasmine like this.

var jasmine = jasmineRequire.core(jasmineRequire);
var env = jasmine.getEnv();

Where jasmine is jasmine, and env is the jasmine environment that contains describe, it, expect, beforeEach, afterEach, etc.

  • line 32: load jasmine with window.jasmineRequire()
  • line 33: get a reference to the jasmine environment
  • line 354: reference beforeEach using the jasmine environment instead of the window global which doesn't exist
  • line 751: reference afterEach using the jasmine environment instead of the window global which doesn't exist

That's a lot to take in but I hope it helps. Let me know if you get it working!

Hi @erikringsmuth , Thanks for your investigation. It really helped a lot. Now the above issue has been fixed. Now the concern is jasmine-jquery functions seem to be undefined. Running the following code block throws the type error undefined not a function.

define(['viewmodels/reports/create','lib/jasmine.amd/jasmineAmd'], function (creatjs, jasmine) {

    var env = jasmine.getEnv(),
        describe = env.describe,
        it = env.it,
        expect = env.expect,
        beforeEach = env.beforeEach;

    describe('viewmodels/reports/create', function () {
        var createSpec;

        beforeEach(function () {
            createSpec = new creatjs();
        });
    describe('Activate', function () {
            it('Check result of activate function', function () {
                loadFixtures('jquery_fixture.html');
                createSpec.activate();
                expect($(".navTab #create")).toHaveClass('active'); // undefined not a function
                                //expect($(".navTab #create").hasClass("active")).toBeTruthy(); this is working
            });
        });
           });
        });

Another one is how to integrate this jasmine test with Team City. How could i use test reporter with this type of(require) implementation. Final one, When running tests the fixtures html markups is shown the output in the browser along with the test report, Can it be hidden?

Sorry to bug you. Thanks for your work much appreciated.
