B209 firmware update for Huawei Ascend Y300

B209 was a regional firmware update for Germany & other European countries, officially released by Huawei in July 2014.

It fixed the dangerous Heartbleed bug and brought some other minor optimizations (e.g. improved RAM- and battery usage).

It's official package name is Y300-0100 V100R001C00B209_Firmware_West European_Channel-Others_Android 4.1_EMUI 1.0_05011KYP.

The original download links were located at www.huaweidevices.de/ascend-y300?show=downloads, which is no longer online.
But, thanks to wonderful archive.org, there're permanent links available (download speed is awefull, but it works!).

Upgrade instructions

  1. Unzip the downloaded file
  2. Place the Update.app file inside a folder named dload on your SD card's root directory -> /sdcard/dload/Update.app
  3. Power off and turn on your phone by pressing the power button while holding down volume down and volume up

Download of Ascend_Y300_Software_Update_B209.zip is very unstable. I'm unable to complete the file. Are there any other mirrors?
