Bug that took me too long to figure out. Adding a gist so it will hopefully get indexed by search engines.

git-lfs related problem

As of writing (2022-06-17) there are 2 results on Google for "line 1: version: not found" with quotes and neither show you the real problem.

When trying to run an executable file, you see something like 
```
# /usr/bin/podman: line 1: version: not found
/usr/bin/podman: line 2: oid: not found
/usr/bin/podman: line 3: size: not found
```
This happens because the file you're trying to run was added to a git repo using git-lfs and did not get pulled with the repo.  The value of the file is a pointer as described [in the spec](https://github.com/git-lfs/git-lfs/blob/main/docs/spec.md)

The fix is using git-lfs to get the actual executable file.  Either through `git lfs pull`, or installing git-lfs before cloning.
