The Tenets of Reasonablism

Reasonablism

The following outlines the tenets of Reasonablism.

Freedoms

Cognitive Liberty - Any individual's right to consider a fact, viewpoint or opinion, whether unique or that of others must be respected and encouraged.

Freedom of Speech and Communication - Any individual's freedom to communicate an idea, thought or message via any form of media or means of expression must be respected and encouraged. This excludes media that contains the likeness or non-commercial property of other individuals, or those that contradict other philosophies of reasonablism.

Right to Privacy - Any individual's right to anonymity, anonymous speech, anonymous communication and the modesty and sanctity of one's property and self, including but not limited to self isolation must be permitted, respected and encouraged.

Freedom of Action - Any individual's freedom to perform any and all intentional actions that do not cause physical harm to others without prior consent, except those that seek to prevent an individual from inflicting immediate physical harm on others.

Duties

Duty to Self Defense - The duty of an individual to defend one's freedoms.

Duty to learn and abstain from logical fallacies - The duty of an individual to be able to correctly identify logical fallacies and abstain from committing them. Emotional choices, decisions and actions are permissible, however, they must be carefully evaluated to ensure that they abide with the philosophies of Reasonablism.

Duty to Introspection - The duty of an individual to assess, evaluate and critically examine one's non-trivial beliefs, thoughts, and actions on a regular basis not exceeding 30 days. Non-trivial actions, thoughts and beliefs amount to those which have an impact lasting more than twenty four hours, or those that affect the lives of others.

Duty to Self-Improvement - The duty of an individual to improve their skills, knowledge and experience

Duty to Community - The duty of an individual to limit one's personal wealth to one that can sustain a life of comfort for a maximum of two generations, given existing methods of investment, at contemporary methods of determining the value of money for calculating these values. Excess money shall be donated to a charitable organization, or to the government, or may be spent towards a charitable cause.

Duty towards Evolution - The duty of an individual to dedicate one's views and long-term actions towards goals that are in compliance with the abolition of political boundaries, the abolition of human suffering, and the guarantee to contemporary first world amenities to all citizens of the world.

What about duty of stewardship - Preservation of natural treasures : water, air, natural areas, habitats for future generations
