Ankheret templating issues and suggestions as of 2.3

Multiple cards

• Cards with “attacks/blocks each turn” effects were updated to “attacks/blocks each combat” for Ixalan. The rules have also been updated so that “attacks/blocks this turn if able” effects work the same way, which technically already fixes this, but for clarity, the wording should be updated anyway. Affects Apostate Thug and Iun, World Reborn.
• Planeswalkers should be updated with the legendary supertype. Affects Dack, Tomb Raider; Sobki, World Severer; and Tamiyo, Moonseeker.
• The following templating changes should be made for Dominaria:
  • Remove “to your mana pool” from Archive of Kariro, Bloodstone Oasis, Burial Chamber, Collapsing Underworld, Crossroads Sands, Crumbling Vestige, Desert Temple, Desolate Lighthouse, Disciple of Hesaret, Duality of Passion, Electrum-Gilded Swarm, Forgotten Necropolis, Garden Oasis, Gelid Pyramids, Mana Confluence, Memory Lane, Phoenix-Flame Ritual, Piece of Erises, Rotting Oasis, Sanctified Oasis, Stonekeep Sphinx, Sunset Pyramids, Temephis Promenade, Treasure Room of Akhamesses, Unexpected Flood (reminder text), Unknown Shores, and Valley of Pyramids.
  • Change “he or she” to “they” on Burial Chamber; Cave-In Trap; Cryptic Reversal; Deface; Drowning Trap; Duality of Ambition; Duality of Destiny; Duality of Passion; Duality of Purity; Duality of Truth; Embalmer's Renewal; Firstborn's Demise; Lurking Mummy; Neutralize; Pharaoh Nimseput; Reimagine; Royal Archaeomancer; Scribe's Fetich; Sobki, World Severer; and Stoneball Trap.
  • The card name referring to the spell on the stack should be changed to “this spell” on Acid Spray Trap, Blood Offering, Bonerise Trap, Cave-In Trap, Chronowarp Trap, Cobra Trap, Divine Revelation, Drowning Trap, Lammasu Sentinel Trap, Mind Control Trap, Pendulum Trap, Reflector Trap, Sandchamber Trap, and Stoneball Trap.
  • The planeswalker redirection rule has been removed, and the following cards should be updated accordingly:
    • change “target player” to “target player or planeswalker” on Bloodstone Oasis and Sobki, World Severer (continuing with “that player or that planeswalker's controller deals”). Alternatively, don't change the text on Sobki if you want to make it impossible to fight other planeswalkers.
    • change “target creature or player” to “any target” on Ash Akhu, Cone of Flame, Dreamfire Bow, Duality of Passion, Electrify the Soul, Flame's Renewal, Foretell with Fire, Sun God's Ire, and Trapmaker's Detonator.
  • All cards are missing the flavor bar and legendary flourish. To fix this, the template should be changed to M15 Mainframe. The flavor bar on the following cards will also have to be adjusted:

• Mill effects should say “top N cards of their library”. Affects Deface and Royal Archaeomancer.
• Artist name for Sandborn Seeker and Sandchamber Trap should be capitalized as “lin bo”.
• The type line “Legendary Enchantment Creature — God” should be shrunk by 1pt.
• Story spotlight watermarks should be using the “color spotlight” variant.

Single card

• Adorned Dragon: As worded currently, this will create separate triggers for each individual unit of mana. To reduce the number of triggers, suggested change: “Whenever you cast a spell that targets Adorned Dragon, Adorned Dragon deals damage to target creature equal to the amount of mana spent to cast that spell.”
• Blood Offering: Artist name should be capitalized as Dan Dos Santos for consistency with real Magic cards.
• Bloodrite Priest: Worship ability should have a period at the end.
• Dack's Trickery: Artist credit should be “Terese Nielsen”.
• Deface: This is already the name of another card.
• Desert Tornado: Should say “with converted mana cost 5 or less”.
• Firehollow Phoenix: For consistency with other sets, artist credit should be “Sandara Tang”.
• Iun, World Reborn: You requested errata to remove the ability from all cards named Iun, World Reborn rather than just the one that actually restarted the game.
• Jackal Familiar: Should be a Jackal, not a Hound.
• Monument building: The comma after “Then” should be removed.
• Servant of Erises: Should say “from your graveyard”.
• Sobki, World Severer: Should say “number of lands they control”.
• Stonekeep Sphinx: “It's still a land” can be reminder text.
• Trapmaker's Detonator: To reduce ambiguity, this should say “If you cast that Trap for an alternative cost”.
