Coffee Brewing

The Ultimate AeroPress Technique

◉ 11g coffee

  • Ground at the finer end of medium, assuming this is light roasted coffee.
  • The darker you go the more you may prefer to increase the dose and coarsen the grind.
  • Niche Zero: 30 ~ 35

◉ 200g water (brought to a boil and used immediately)

  • The darker the roast is, the lower the temperature is (or even down to 90 Celsius for really dark roast)

Brew

  1. Put the filter into the cap. Don't rinse or preheat the brewer (it doesn't make any difference).
  2. Lock the cap into the brewer and put it onto a cap/decanter
  3. Put ground coffee into the brewer. Shake it to even the coffee bed.
  4. Place onto a scale and add all 200 g water, aiming to wet all the coffee during pouring
  5. Start a timer, and immediately place the piston piece into the top of the brewer, about 1cm in
  6. Steep for 2 minutes
  7. Holding the brewer and the piston, gently swirl the brewer
  8. Wait another 30 seconds
  9. Press gently all the way (aiming for 30 seconds press time)
