List of Boot Sector Gamers

Boot Sector Games

A list of playable boot sector games, most of which are on github. Fun to play, great to learn from. There are also many cool non-booting boot sectors out there that aren't games (so more like demos), but this page is just reserved to interactive boot sectors / games. This list is also not complete, but not on purpose, it is a best effort collection of games, so if you know of any fun boot sector games, please contribute.

This page lists a collection of 31 games spanning several authors: nanochess, me, daniel-e, shikhin, JulianSlzr, XanClic, QiZD90, darkvoxels, guyhill, w-shackleton, egtzori, VileR, ish_works, franeklubi, queso_fuego, franeklubi, Jethro82, waternine9, tevoran, palma3k, taylor-hartman. peterferrie should also be mentioned as he has touched a lot of these games.

IOAccelContext2::finish_fence_event() race condition OOB read/write
This is a method exposed to user space, it takes a kernel read-only shared memory
(type 2 via clientMemoryForType()) address and treats it as an IOAccelEvents Array.
The user supplied index is checked against the IOAccelEvents array bounds,since there are no
locks held in this method,it is possible to change the array bounds by calling
IOAccelContext2::clientMemoryForType() again in a separate thread, this will expand the size by
multiplying the older size by 2, but we still have a reference to the old shared memory address

Muh Switch Keys

So you want to decrypt switch content ? Well, the good news is that all the tools required to do that are written up! The great news is, since this is crypto we're talking about, you'll have to find the keys. Yourself. Like it's easter.

So here you can find a template of the $HOME/.switch/prod.keys file that hactool uses to decrypt content. It contains all the SHA256 and location of the keys and seeds, so you can find them yourselves.

Note that all the seeds (the keys that end with _source) are used along with the master_key_## to derive an actual key. If you have somehow obtained the key without the seed, you can rename xxx_source to xxx_## (where ## is the master key number) and put your key there.

How the heck do I obtain dem keys ?
