2020-08-20 - general onboarding user testing - arya, octavio, frank

arya developer of 10 years last 5 years in crypto

start page

selection page not sure which I was interested in, so I just wanted to get to the product assume everything I'm seeing here, would relate to one particular path it seems all of them are disparate paths * I'm here for something specific, might help to allow to traverse smaller decisions * looking to contribute, or looking for contributors

profile page would fill out the profile information could I create my own tags? most are specifically web3.0 related, but web2.0 concepts would be nice gamification platform, healthcare, etc sort of like angelist

checked organization (uni) yes it would have a github organization profile ok with filling my email is it after I connect with github? yes maybe more than one email

how do you think gitcoin can help you find devs to help or find funding for a project

understand the concept of the tribe? imagine it's people who have committed to the project over time, people who are contributing, making commits, within the community community landing page for a project

2020-08-18 - general onboarding user testing - emerson, octavio, frank

not sure what's going on things to join it's very confusing, not sure what everything is about

first just clicked hackathon added bio probably pick fe, be, freelance jobs, gaming

work profile I just logged in right, what am I completing in my profile if I wanted to participate, I just want to see hacks I can join, and fill out skills later I'm setting up my profile - misunderstand (trying to create a hackathon) it was participate in a hackathon skills seem like it's for another moment down the road this is something to ask later

complete profile bar this is the time to fill out the work profile stuff

what do you think gitcoin can offer you as a user? I'm not sure what happens here I don't know the product, and I don't know what it does

what do you think about hackathons he described hackathons

to see hackathons just go to the right hand side bar

do you feel we asked too much about work it's just misplaced, it should be filled out later just not at the time we're choosing what we want to do

bio / interested in maybe from social / github / linkedin / bitbucket / twitter / instagram instagram makes sense for him because he's a business owner those are the things that make sense from a developer standpoint 10 years of experience / github is covered it's something I like to know about someone else when joining projects I'd rather join to learn rather than teach maybe experience level probably looking at github to see projects maybe we add to help ourselves categorize? is it a useful categorization?

anything that bothers you about this flow? don't have an updated resume right away not sure about some things i'll get back to it later first contact with platform, I would want to understand before I show the information to gitcoin

confusing onboarding has a step before & after he didn't seem to read the onboarding page

action items move skills to bio/interest page? move job question to bio/interest page? other work information separate and filled out later / link maybe remove more unrelevant work information based on this interview octavio will start building foundational items

2020-08-13 - general onboarding user testing - bruno, octavio, frank

first screen didn't know what to do I will select grants, my interests are more altruistic I manage my own organization and community

skills remove html, designer, product not looking for work probably check yes to show information right now, work for a company in brazil, part-time full-time location, irrelevant for me because part-time work, but mostly want to do remote work no interest to move to other country, so check open to remote work. compensation expectation, nothing here linkedin profile yes no resume because I already put the linkedin resume

organization profile it's long and repetitve process, I don't want to read it again I put my mail and next

setup your profile I don't put bio right now, is it my bio about me or my project? I won't put it now create a space for my open source project, in the moment, it wasn't the right moment, this moment is to describe my project, don't describe me I will put several things (fe, design, token economics, defi)

organization profile

recall of products grants hackathon

sure of what gitcoin is? still not sure what it is exactly, but did know 1-2 items that he selected

2020-08-11 - general onboarding user test - bernardo vieira, octavio, frank

do like quests & kudos alot do like hackathons using hackathons to find and focus on other people haven't done much with bounties or grants not really what I'm looking for, since I'm cofounding a project, so I'm more focused on that quests are really amazing

I am a developer, cofounding as a developer technically still a github organization, we do have a github organization didn't read the whole page

organization manager yes we are, but also looking for investment to

populate profile not currently looking for work no ok to show information publicly yes options shouldn't show? europe remote work no not looking for work

setup organization selected that I'm a community manager not sure if its obvious to a first time user. not sure what a tribe is, or event got lost on tribes when I first was exposed not sure about townsquare things I'm interested within this organization? why are they asking for email?

bio fetching from github?

interests didn't read because it's a demo i think these options make sense, participating in gitcoin kernel, we have different conversations about different things, to have a place to find people with similar interests

end page I do recognize it (but he didn't exactly) profiles & organization page (didn't exactly get it) page looks similar to what we have as a user things look pretty obvious as an organization page

improvements what is the meaning of townsquare? maybe a better word works better might sound ok to english native, but maybe not

do you understand more about gitcoin? or about the same everytime I log in, I see something different, so I try to explore it

===

grammar fixes I'm also an organization (at the bottom of the first screen) clicking check boxes, clicking the ones that are interesting to them, make sure they can select the ones they want

confusing frank - is the bio of org or person, the order might be confusing frank - general order of the questions might be a little weird

2020-08-10 - general onboarding user test - tarun gupta, vivek, octavio, frank

tarun is a developer do you already know gitcoin (2 months back, still working in biconomy in NYBW) was a sponsor & also was in kernel have you used bounties, or other products, not yet though from a developer

goes for grants, hackathons, bounties doesn't necessarily know all the products (but have seen some of the things) quests and kudos are new for me, I'll look at it last

definitely part time & contract looking for companies around the us and europe open to remote work 40000 dollars per month (depends on hours) pdf resume on hand?

sponsor of a hackathon (biconomylabs) really didn't notice the organization manager looking for a great community

sponsor - what would you want to do with your community throw out questions on quests on sdks and stuff

different themes or types of hackathons you're interested in more interested in defi hackathons, more interested in that

do you understand how this product can help you build your organization? I know, but not in alot of detail

hackathon organize hackathons, 1:1 conversations with developers bounties, best use case built out, and also fix bugs grants, read alot of vitalik's articles, working on projects, can look for a grant, project that is hard to monetize

do you know off the top off of your head are there organizations you want to be a part of

gitcoin has so many products not explore all the things

gitcoin tribes, do they understand what tribes is? "related to your network"

out of the box you get organization tribes lite not sure exactly what tribes lite is

we didn't get info on his interest in open infrastructure & defi and his current work with grants

details on second page interest section / category every grant and every company should be categorized which tribes they would be interested in locations doesn't seem relevant maybe not the right questions software engineer of biconomy founder of parcel etc etc didn't get the answer as a short bio

argument for keeping "kudos" & "quests" we know what percentage of users are who if we give them "explore" we don't get a definite answer from them either

can we take a middle ground we have the product page in some variation then collect data on our users in some form or another

somebody has come here to do something, and we need to help them do it we also want to find out about them, (data from our user)

2020-08-07 - general onboarding user test - sanchay, frank, octavio

I don't understand the bottom portions, why are we being asked about the products, why do I have to choose these five things that I'm not aware of should I choose them or skip ahead? confusing because it's asking me why have I been asked, is it categorizing, or is it charging me? how should I figure out what I'm interested in? selects all the products, familiar with all the products when does the screen show up select all of them

really don't understand why we're asked the options, what are these products? said the same thing to Alisa too

sharing information could be moved downwards

don't ask any questions, login -> townsquare -> welcome tool (Gitcoin) and window scroll we don't collect any data just telling us about Gitcoin don't want to put alot of information pictorials or gif, one liners and tell them this is my product I want more of an experience, show animations

2020-08-07 - general onboarding user test - sachin, frank, octavio

job information would like interests about blockchain information that belongs on the participants tab did not really read the text of the platform as a new user, I would select all of them, because I am curious about knowing the product enter my name, email, github profile, then skills type of work, not sure what bounties are yet, the other three make sense user experience, I have trouble with the design, how it looks to my eyes the background should be blurred overwhelmed with the compensation expectation - I'm a student who doesn't know I'm googling it as a student, maybe required or not required denotion no scroll down modal, tabs might be helpful location doesn't make sense, if you're remote, care more about position, and what kind of crypto job is it? but we are not a job seeking platform

thanks; the notes are helpful. maybe worth updating the product ticket before octo starts on building it?
