What is #compdef ...?

Since this is the first result in google for "fish git aliases", I will leave here a fix (that worked for me at least) for the current_branch function, which in turn should also fix ggpush:

function current_branch
    set ref (git symbolic-ref HEAD 2> /dev/null); or \
    set ref (git rev-parse --short HEAD 2> /dev/null); or return
    echo $ref | sed -e 's|^refs/heads/||'
end

What is #compdef ...?
It's zsh's completions synax so I assume it's just being used as a description of what they started with.

use as you would use git in everyday life, but you can use aliases to avoid typing the entire command
ex: git add foo.bar
with alias: ga foo.ba

I'm putting the aliases I want to use in a config file, e.g. ~/.config/fish/conf.d/aliases.fish.

@rchampourlier can i put these aliases in a config file `~/.config/fish/conf.d/git_aliases.fish ??

@rchampourlier

@tarikwaleed did you try? AFAIK, you can put them in any .fish file in the ~/.config/fish/conf.d didrectory :)

@rchampourlier didn't tryied it yet, but planning to do so and put related aliases in a separate .fish file in ~/.config/fish/conf.d . I believe the'll work

plugin-git.

fisher install jhillyerd/plugin-git

It can work with fish-abbreviation-tips.

fisher install gazorby/fish-abbreviation-tips
