We’re creating a great community. We’d love to connect more with each other. Gain insights about tricks and smart ideas living in your heads. Sharing is the heart of the meetup. To make sharing easier, we’re creating 3 new tracks for lightning talks.
- This thing I learned last month and I’m sharing so now we all know!
- How we work with each other. Stories about (mis)communication
- Chill zone. Developers after hours
It means that you’re invited to give a short presentation even if you didn’t prepare it beforehand! Lightning takes from 5 to 15 minutes. How to know if you’re ready?
- Make sure you can speak
- Choose one of the tracks
- Write down 1-3 points, to sum up, what you’re speaking about
- (make sure you had no more than 2 beers)
Once you’re done, find a meetup organizer and report that you’re ready. How to choose track? Check examples of lightnings that could fit into each of the tracks:
- I’ve switched from Bootstrap to CSS Grid! I’ll give you some insight into the transition!
- My team implemented online payments in our app. Let me tell you about a library we’ve used and this funny quirk we had to solve
- I was tracking one CSS bug for days and it kept coming back. Finally, I’ve found a solution and I’ll show you!
- I was fighting for months with my manager, but finally, we’re good. I’ll tell you how we got along
- I’m fighting with my manager all the time! I’ll tell you my story, please help me resolve our quarrel!
- I love working with my team! Let me tell you what we do to keep our morals high
- I’ve read this psychology book and it really helped me strengthen relationships with coworkers and friends. You should read it to!
- Last week I’ve built myself a new wardrobe! I can tell you all the things you want to know before doing it yourself
- I’ve found this great charity, they’re doing awesome work. Let me tell you how you also could help
By now, you’re ready to make a lightning talk. That’s awesome, come upstage! We will reward you generously! From people giving lightning talks, on each meetup we will draw one person who gets a free ticket for a one-day workshop of your choosing:
- React hooks in practice
- Rx.js in practice
- Functional JavaScript with Ramda
Workshops will be part of our little Kraków JS school, starting at the beginning of 2020. You’ll get more info soon. We’re gonna have more opportunities to get free tickets!
