Bose QC 35 II Voice / Microphone Not Working On Newer Windows 10 Builds

Bose Community Post Here

Below is an actual side by side comparison of Windows 10 version 1909 (✅ Working Microphone) and Windows 10 version 2004 (❌ Not Working).

In this setup, I have used the same computer, and created a clean install of Windows using the versions stated above.

BOSE should acknowledge this issue and should roll out updates to their drivers to make it compatible to new builds of Windows 10. I don't have to try this on every build to prove a point.

Had the same problem for Bose QC45. My bose were correctly paired via bluetooth, but I could never select them as sound output because they weren't included in the list.

dissconected
(here they were always disconnected after pairing)

To get them to show up as sound output, the solution was to "actually install the drivers":

Device manager>Bose QC45 update driver>
Browse my computer for drivers>Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer>
Select Microsoft Bluetooth A2dp Source (or what you have)>next>drivers will be installed>
Restart your computer

install_drivers_bose_qc45

Now your bose device would show up as a sound output.
It seems that just because the device shows up in device manager doesn't mean that the drivers are correctly installed.

I had a similar issue on two similar laptop computers (different generations Lenovo X1) - on one it worked and on another, it didn't. I installed a new external Bluetooth adapter and it solved the issue.
