- Turn off Javascript
- Turn off cookies
- Don't log in to personal or identifying accounts.
##Browsing
- Make sure all private information is shared using SSL. Look for the s in https and the lock in the address bar.
- Don't share passwords across accounts.
- Good passwords look like this - "monsters found a precarious tree upstairs"
##Secure Chat
- Use Cryptocat plugin for Firefox or Chrome plus Tor for really anonymous chat.
- Use OTR with Adium or Pidgin for secure(but not anonymous) Instant messaging.
- GPG and Thunderbird/Enigmail are good tools for encrypted long term correspondence.
