Open Network Infrastructure Association in short

What means open infrastructure?

  • Free/open everyone, no questions asked, no permission required, no strings attached.
  • Aligned to the open definition: http://opendefinition.org/

Goals of the association

  • promote, support and find funding for open network infrastructure projects, such as community networks
  • organize workshops, tech sessions, meetups, etc
  • push for legal/political change to enable open infrastructure

How

  • aim at simple, minimal overhead, low maintenance organization
  • take a pragmatic approach:
    • focus on what works, and improve/evolve that
    • scope is not written in stone, we expand as we see fit
  • the association must:
    • not get in the way of open, voluntary collaboration
    • not replace the TTN Community, it's an instrument to support it

Why join?

To take an active role and help shape open infrastructure in Switzerland.
