Pixel Perfect Tree - Web Designer

Hi there!

We are Pixel Perfect Tree. We're a company that's 100% self bootstrap, we're having an amazing year and continue to grow on a steady pace.

We're currently looking for a keen-eye individual with a strong understanding of how visuals translate to web and the technical ability to bring it to life, in other words You'll be bringing the Pixel Perfect to our Tree, if this sounds like you, keep reading.

But what exactly do you mean by Web Designer? That's so confusing!

Based on the foundation that development is design you're expected to be able to create experiences that go beyond the norm to make users happy pandas.

While you'll be in charge of designing these interfaces we also expect you bring them to life via the magic of well thought semantic HTML and guidelined CSS.

About the Team

We like to believe our team is top-notch, we joke a lot, eat a lot and program in a friendly environment yet we take our work very seriously and give it all to produce quality code. Everyone gets involved in steering what we do, providing ideas for development and opinions on technologies we use. The ideal candidate will bring that same spark to our team.

About the Job

As a Web Designer you'll be expected to:

  • Bring features to life from idea on paper through implementation
  • Illustrate your design's interactions with specs or documents to collaborate with developers
  • Reduce, simplify, distill. Know how to let go. Create experiences that are effortless for users by reducing UI complexity down to its essential components
  • Experience in and knowledge of HTML/CSS, responsive design principles, and standard UX web practices
  • Photoshop-fu (or Sketch)
  • You have excellent communication skills that enable you to present concepts and designs to internal teams and non-creatives
  • You are self-motivated, innovative, possess strong organizational and time-management skills, and have a problem-crushing attitude
  • Write simple JavaScript to illustrate interactions
  • Salary range is very competitive but will depend largely on skill so we'll be giving this information on a personal basis anywhere from RD$30,000.00 - RD$80,000.00

About You

Basically this job is for you if:

  • You're passionate about online products

  • You have experience working on a collaborative environment and/or Agile Shop

  • You have some serious knowledge of Browser quirks

  • You dream of CSS and you pretty much know all the tricks

  • You have lead Design projects, you're willing to be the glue that keeps a team together, work with designers, developers, community members, and our project manager / scrum-master to see projects through successfully

  • You have 2+ Years of experience solving product design problems, knowing when to borrow, copy, and steal, knowing when to reinvent the wheel

  • Know when to switch from blue sky ideation to tactical thinking. Be able to deliver effective, constructive critique, and to listen and accept design criticism

  • Bonus points: For Git/Github Ninja

  • Bonus points: For Sass (Syntactically Awesome Style Sheets not your actual personality)

  • Bonus points: If you don't run whenever anyone mentions The Golden Ratio, A/B Testing or Usability

  • Bonus points: If you have ever contributed to any Open Source project
