1) What data do I collect, including but not limited to personal identifying information?

I do not collect any personal identifying information (pii). However, I do keep logs of how people use the bot. This includes the content of all messages that start with a correct prefix ("toni", "noti", "!t", or a mention of the bot). I also store the server id, matchmaking role id, and optionally the matchmaking channel id for any server that has unranked matchmaking set up.

2) Why do I need the data?

In case an error occurrs, I need to know what exactly triggered the error for debugging. The matchmaking configuration data is needed to provide the unranked functionality.

3) How do I use the data?

I use the logs for debugging and bot improvement purposes only. As an example of how logs could be used for bot improvement, I looked at logs for common unsupported spellings of character names, so I could add them to the moves command. The matchmaking configuration data is only used for the matchmaking commands.

4) Other than Discord the company and users of your own bot on Discord the platform, who do I share my collected data with, if anyone?

I do not share stored data with anyone. However, there are occasions where I send user generated data to other platforms:

  • For the tournament command, I send the search term to the smash.gg api.

5) How can you contact me if you have concerns about my bot?

6) How can you have data removed?

You can just contact me directly. If you want the matchmaking configuration data to be removed for your server, type toni, unrankedcfg reset in that server.
